THE HISTORY OF McFIT

Founded in 1996 by Rainer Schaller, McFIT introduced Germany’s first discount fitness concept. The first studio opened in 1997, and rapid expansion followed across the country. By 2006, McFIT had become Germany’s largest fitness chain with nearly half a million members, and between 2009 and 2011 the brand expanded internationally, reaching over one million members across Europe. 2016, McFIT envolved into the McFIT Global Group, today known as RSG Group. Since 2024, McFIT has been gradually modernizing all its studios under the new concept “McFIT the Original”.
